Hey... how y'all doing... it's been too long, but I just wanted to come up here and update you on this camera. It's been 6 years since I bought it, and she is still going strong-ish. It's the only professional camera I own.
Updates:
The kit lens fell and broke in early 2022 and I was so sad and in total shock. I tried to fix it, because one thing about me, I will fix something that needs to be fixed. I was not able to and did further put damage by accidentally (in frustration) tearing up the connector between the lens and whatever it was connected to. However, I did get two new fixed lenses ( sigma 30mm and Sony 16mm). shoutout to my cousin for funding these lenses, I appreciate you big! I'm still getting used to filming and taking pictures on a fixed lens since there isn't a zoom feature on the lens itself. trying to focus myself ( since I take the best self-portraits), especially with the 30mm. I should probably practice more, but I've been in neglection mode.
Review:
I really love my camera. she's been through the wire because Lord knows how rough I've been with her. it was only after I broke the lens, that I bought a camera case for it. she used to chilli at the bottom of my bag, with so much on her, but she's come through. It is very easy to use and takes the prettiest pictures still, especially in flash mode. I've solely been taking pictures with my camera these past few years because iPhone lenses are not nice. They're not as crisp.
She takes the prettiest and somewhat crispiest video if I'm in very good lighting. She tends to get graining at night time unless I put her on a specific mode and do not play too much with the settings. there are some features I wish she had, like an audio plug; just somewhere to put my microphone but that feature belongs to the later camera versions. She also tends to overheat and it's one of the features I really dislike about the camera. I can only go so far as 15 minutes without it shutting down due to overheating. She also tends to shut down in extreme cold ( when I'm outside). on rare occasions, she gives me grace and records up to 25 minutes, but she be knocked out further than that.
Anyway, these are my overall thoughts. I do believe, I will eventually get the kit lens for it for convenience sake in the far future. I also do want to upgrade the body because that kit lens that were invested in, will be used. Furthermore, I love staying loyal to a brand and I've been a Sony's girl for years, way before the purchase of the camera. Their headphones sold me.
I will do an official update post and let y'all know where my head's at.
